CM CLUB - Advice needed ASAP re: charges - got to reply back to parent......

Hiya

Just a quicky as having a mental day. My double pay baby's mum has emailed about my overnight care charges (cert arrived with it agreed whilst on hols). I'm having baby on Thursday next week and as it's all been a last min thing, I haven't sorted charges out. I emailed back asking what were they thinking of paying and she said her dh thought £50 a night and she thought £70 a night. This is going to be quite regular from what I gather i.e. maybe twice a month or something.

What do you think? Do it for £50? My dh said meet half way and say £60 but I want to know what you think!

Good point (sorry, been a mental day with ds in A&E and I'm rushing to catch up now we're back)!

Just emailed mum back to ask about hours for next week and if likely to be same hours each time. I have baby from 8.30-6pm Thurs & Fri's so imagine they'll want me to just keep her during the night and carry on day hours as normal.

Would you charge more for a Fri/Sat night than weekday? Or keep the same?

from what time until what time?

i charge £5.50-£6.00 from 6.30pm until 8.30 am =£77 / £84 for those full hours, plus anytime ive had them through the day.
I also have this mindee frequent nights over a period of 6-8 weeks, then normal shifts then these again..you can guess which ones i prefer

i dont 'do' sat or sun night, i may do a fri but i wouldnt charge more as i think my fee is fair already.

I think I'd say well normally I'd charge £75 but as it will be regular I'll do it for £65

ie £5 per hour for 15 hrs between 6pm & 9am or part of

But you'll do it for £4.50 for the 14.5 hrs

what did you decide on?

I decided to go with the £60 a night as they do already pay me double for their baby to come 2 days a week and when I paid for overnight care, I only paid £20 (a friend did it). Will review it if they wake in the night a lot but mum said she's still sleeping through.
