OFSTED?

crace · 05/07/2007 13:37

Am I mistaken, but she has to be forward with them. We are required by Ofsted to keep a complaints folder with formal complaints, be it verbal or written. Particularly those filed with Ofsted..?

What about your local Sure Start team at the council? But ultimately, I agree with Awen. If she's not prepared to share them with you and justify them, then who knows what she hidding.

Crace is right - childminders are now required to keep a record of all complaints which has to be made available for you to view (obviously the record you get to see would not show complainant or mindees names).

You can contact [email protected] 08456 404040 and ask - you should have her registration number on your copy of the contract or you can get it from her certificate which she should have put up on display on the wall while she's childminding.

what sort of complaints are people saying she has had>

ayla99 · 05/07/2007 14:12

When was she last inspected? If shes been inspected under the current graded system, then you can view her report online and it will say at the end if, at the time of inspection, Ofsted have received any complaints since previous inspection. Don't know if it will say online if any complaints have been received since the last inspection or if it will put anything up until the matter has been investigated.

Ofsted will only record complaints about the childminder failing to meet one or more of the National Standards, if the complaints are something else, eg that her fees are high then Ofsted won't want to know.

You should be able to read a few reports & work out which one she is

It might be the top one
