Just received this - one of the questions is: What type of protective clothing do you wear when preparing food? Anyone wear anything? regards

I sometimes wear an apron if I'm baking or cooking a lunch/supper for lots of people as I'm clumsy and would be constantly spilling stuff down me.

It also makes me feel like a 'proper' mummy!!!

We went to a well known sub roll sandwich shop yesterday where the guy was wearing gloves to make the rolls, then he took our money with the gloves on and handed back the change - hmmmmmmmmmm?!

I don't wear special clothing for normal mealtimes - I'm not a bloody restaurant!! I tie my hair back but then do everything as I do a mum iyswim

The amount of times I have to stop preparing food to sort out the kids/change a nappy or something, there's no way I'd be taking protective clothes off, putting on, taking of........ If they say we need to start doing this, I'll seriously start thinking about whether or not I want to continue being a childminder (because of everything else that's changing)

Blue plaster rather than a flesh coloured one?
Cover any open sores?

looneytune · 10/06/2007 15:00

Didn't think of that - but do you wear special clothing?

Katymac · 10/06/2007 15:00

Oven gloves

The correct answer is:

An apron to protect the food from germs which may be on your clothes
