A friend worked for me as a childminder
She left (Difficut situation - I think both of us made mistakes)
She has set up as a childinder & lives in the same village - Great - fab idea - gives parent more choice - no problem at all

However her OFSTED report talks all about my house/setting/policies etc & my facilities

I don't think that's on really I think it needs to be off the OFSTED website or amended until she has one of her own - AIBU?

?why would she have her reg showing YOUR house?, she needs and inspection of her own home ad her own policies!

OMG, definitely NOT - that's well out of order and needs correcting by OFSTED ASAP!!!

Is this report from when she was childminding at yours? It could just be a matter of OFSTED being slow but tell them you really want it changed and off their website

NO, NO, NO, NO!!!!! You've worked hard to set up your lovely setting so it's not right for someone else to gain from it imo!!!

I'm more concerned that parents will confuse us - we are similar in name & it's a very small village

I think my latest children to leave have gone to her - which if it's true rather than my paranoia - I would be a little peeved at

Oh Katy you really don't need that hassle. Hopefully OFSTED will do something quickly especially as you got such a wonderful OFSTED report its not right to have her take credit

Not really - but I don't know how transportable Inspection Reports are

My friend a teacher says she can take the individual part of a report to her next school but no more

Whereas my information is spread throughout her report

ofsted are out of order as well as your 'friend' they should not base her present care upon the care she provided and where she provided it in previous amployment.hope ofsted reply quickly

She will have to be registered from her own address and go through the process as a new minder. Your ofsted report cannnot be used by her at her own address as it applies to where she was inspected.

She should not be minding yet, it is illegal. They may speed up the process for her, but until such time as she has her own certificate with her address on it, she is not registered, or mored to the point insured.

I know this from colleagues expereience.

Very good point. I couldn't mind in my new house until I had my new certificate with new address on. Yes, it's illegal!!

Her new certificate is on-line - so I guess she has it

Then phone OFSTED, i would, seems totally unfair imo

I emailed "I am a registered childminder working in Norfolk. I work in my house with other childminders. Recently Ex-employee (Reg No) left my employ and has set up as a childminder by herself ? which is a great idea as she is a fab childminder.

However, on the OFSTED website is her OFSTED Inspection Report, which details her time working at my house. It contains details about my house and pets, about my policies and contracts, and about my menus and procedures. I feel it is unfair on parents that this information is unqualified in any way, that is, that no mention is made that she is working alone now rather than with other childminders or that she is working from her own home rather than from my home.

Is it possible to have a note made that details that information? So that parents have accurate and relevant information rather than an out of date snapshot of something that no longer exists.

Katymac, It took me ages to get a response from Ofsted when I contacted them. It was only when I rang that I got any response. I now have the name and telephone number of the team manager in norwich, if you want it. He was really nice and my issue is now sorted

Well I have had an acknowledgement from OFSTED

Katy, that will probably be just an automated press button thing - they have to confirm receipt within 24 hrs and just send a standard email saying they've received it. Hope they are quick at sorting it but I highly recommend phoning or replying to the email and ask how long they will probably take to deal with it

I probably am being petty - but 2 childminders in a village of 300 houses with very similar names is confusing for parents

& that is leaving aside that one used to work for the other

You really are NOT petty Katy - I don't think I'd be as calm about it as you if it was me!
