I have a folder with all my bits in, a friend gives a small one to prospective parents with contact details, prices, sample activities and ofsted report in. Do you do anything similar? What do you have in yours?

I have a huge, hulking folder to show parents when they visit - it's a daunting thing to even consider going through, but includes all my certificates, leaflets on places we like to visit, insurance certificates, sample copies of contracts and forms parents will need to complete (permission forms, personal details etc).

I have a small folder to give to parents to take away which includes:

  • A Personal Profile (3 A4 sheets, including photos, of general info about me, my family, pets, the sort of things we like to do, fun activities/outings we do, how I like to work with parents, etc. and, oh yes, just how lovely I really am!)

  • Another sheet lists charges (basic hourly rate, holidays, sickness etc.)

  • I also include my policies, and written info/photos on weekly outings we have (music group, toddler drop-in, soft play etc.)

I haven't included a copy of my Ofsted report, which is something I think I should consider.

Thanks Prisoner! - I have a portfolio with all my proceedures and t&c's. A sample of my current day to day activities and the last few pages are tear out pages for signatures for photos, trips, medicines etc. And the all important contract. I usually go through the whole thing on a second visit for potential parents and they take it home with them to digest and hopefully sign on the dotted line!
