Free English classes for au pairs

Dear au pair 'employers'

I have lurked on your threads for some months now since we have decided to bite the bullet and have an au pair from August.

We have now (hopefully) found a nice German girl who we have agreed a contract with.

So far, from my lurking, I have used mumsnetters' interview questions, contract details and lots of other useful ideas about finding an au pair. (The Great Aupair site was a god send!) However, I have a question: There are quite a few mentions of free English classes.
I can not find out any more about these. The local college offers part-time English classes and our au pair is going to go there, but there is no mention of any classes that are free for au pairs. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Free english courses are offered at our local college of further education. They are not full time, around 4-6 hours per week iirc. They are free for anyone with a valid visa, or european citizen, so that would include au pairs.

Thanks Nightynight. It is odd because our local college, whilst offering part-time English language courses, makes no mention of the possibility of them being free. Is your college in England? Maybe it is because I am in Scotland and we have different policies up here.
Is anyone in Scotland and has seen such free classes?

Id phone them and ask. It could quite likely be different in Scotland.

Yes, I will have to do that.
Anyone from Scotland with any experience of au pairs?
