CM Club - My 5 Month Old Mindee - wind, sick, poo problems :-(

Me again

This is the same baby who was being sick large amounts and had chesty cough.

Baby still has bad chest but Dr said it's fine, just gave mum prescription for drops to help her snotty nose (Dr's was on Friday morning but mum never went to the chemist to collect the prescription!)

Anyway, I can't be sure if these problems are related to her lingering cold so I'm going to ask in case she's still like this after it.

The problems I am having are baby is in pain with wind after her bottle and I try and try to help her bring her wind up but over say the past month, she's struggled (and you can see she needs to burp because of the bluey bit above her lip - sure you know what I mean! ) and I hate seeing her like that (normally such a happy little thing so you can tell when it's bothering her!)

So, say I give her a bottle at 1.30pm, I'll try for up to half hour to bring wind up but then I have to put her down to sort other and then............sick! She has more and more dirty nappies as she eventually manages the wind at her bottom end and it results in big splatty poo. Still sick on top. All these exploded nappies/sick episodes ALWAYS happen when I'm about to put her in a car seat so then it's mad panic to change nappy/put clean clothes on etc and then we end up late for the school run

Don't know what I can do??? The problems on there own would be ok if it wasn't for the timings (i.e. I can deal with it, it's just the timing is TERRIBLE)

How on earth do I avoid this problem???? I just don't know what's caused it unless it is down to her cold?

BTW, the volume of sick appears to have reduced I think - need to monitor for a bit longer.

BTW, this also affects her sleep - she's only 5 months old and since being with me at 9.15am, has had a grand total of 30 mins nap - she wants more, you can tell, but the pain seems to distract her

Poor you looneytune. You seem to have such problems with that baby. Can't really help much except to say it seems to be going around at the mo my ds and mindee have both had sickness and runny bums for the past week. It is never well timed on Thursday I was covered in sick just as I was going on school run had to runand get changed really quickly. Think alot of my 2's problem is teething and getting over colds as they cant get flem up they are being sick. Sorry for lack of advice but wanted to know you are not alone

What does her mum say about it? Sounds like a stomach bug to me.

Don't babies grow out of wind before 5 months?
