Hi I am hoping some of you can give me some advice I look after a 8 month old 2 full days and 2 1/2 days a week and she is not in any sort of routineat all. She is very laid back and doesnt cry when she wakes so sometimes she is not given breakfast until parents get up at 10 therefore all meals and naps throughout the day are all over the place and I end up playing catch up with her as she wants feeding on school runs at toddlers or 2 mins before collection. I think its because they dont get up to her and give breakfast early enough so she is not tired enough for a morning nap so has one in the aft which I have to wake her for school run and then isd not happy for rest of aft. Any advice on what I could try? Do you think I could mention to parents that they need to get up earlier to feed her?

OFSTED what are you going to do have you spoken to parents about drop off time

crace · 17/05/2007 09:13

I would seriously have a word, just waiting around with no contact would be unacceptable! A text to say when they were coming even! They are still paying for the full time?

looneytune · 17/05/2007 09:19

lots of posts to catch up with - best put kettle on whilst waiting for baby and then have a read

OFSTEDoutstanding · 17/05/2007 09:34

Had a word yesterday and said it wasn't really an issue but could become one in the holidays when I have a house full waiting to go out. She pays me on the monday for start of week so even though not arrive til 1.30 yesterday still got paid for the morning so its not that bad really. still waiting......................

Oh dear, so is this the only one you have in the day until school runs?

OFSTEDoutstanding · 17/05/2007 10:02

Yes apart from my ds. See its notreally an issue she gets here on time when she comes at 2 because I have had to leave for a school run before and parent was late for work cos had to wait til I got back but knows I dont have to go anywhere important on a wed or thurs.
I'm still waiting....................anyone want to guess how much longer????

I used to get this sometimes and let it continue for the same reason, it didn't reallt affect anyone else. I just found things like going to the toilet annoying as I'd leave it and leave it and then in typical style, they'd turn up when I was on the loo!!!

looneytune · 17/05/2007 10:27

I reckon they'll turn up at...............errrrrrr...................11.45!

OFSTEDoutstanding · 17/05/2007 10:41

She always turns up just as i have done ds a snack or am in the middle of changing his nappy! Still here waiting...............

Touble is if you let it continue, when you HAVE to go somewhere they still are late. I HATE waiting around, there is always something I could do if I know they a re not coming till later, and sorry its common courtsey to inform you. What will happen when your DS goes to pre school or school, are they still going to be late?

OFSTEDoutstanding · 17/05/2007 11:39

Who knows Shoshable but thats not for another 3 years anyway so not an issue yet. If we are going out somewhere and needto leave on time they are very good at getting here then its only if they know there is nowhere really to go. Well have managed to go to loo, eat snack and change ds nappy and I'm still waiting any advance on 11.45?

I have left before - my mindees parents know I have to leave for a certain time and if they miss it then... they wait til I get back. It's happened at least twice - they can't say I didn't warn them. I usually text them with a 20 minute warning (they are 10 mins away) that I am leaving at xx time or otherwise I will be back at xx time. They've had to wait an hour or two before.

crace · 17/05/2007 11:41

What do they do, just show up or do they let you know?

OFSTEDoutstanding · 17/05/2007 11:44

Sometimes they let me know usually they just turn up the other day it was right when I was loading car to do the school run she knows I wont wait for her if thats the case so comes when neccessarey
