Older au pair, is it possible to find?

I'm looking for an older au pair/ house keeper. Closer to 35/40 of possible. Most seem to be under 25 these days.

Surely they have always been mostly under 25? Few 35-40 year olds are willing/able to go abroad for 6 months or a year, live in someone else's house and be paid very little for childcare. By that age, people have their own families, mortgages or rent, the allure of learning a new language has waned etc.

Why do you specifically want an older aupair?

What a strange question. Are you offering terms that an older au pair would find acceptable?

Surely then you're looking for a nanny/housekeeper? Au pairs are generally for cultural experience and exchange and shouldn't really be a replacement for cheap home help...

Maybe I wasn't aware of what exactly was an au pair.

Yes I'm after an older house keeper/nanny then.

Of course you could find one but we are at/near full employment so you will need to offer a realistic wage for a grown-up.

Its called a nanny.
