Unpaid mat leave and 30 funded hours....eligible?

Hi all.
I am just wondering if anyone know if you are still eligible for the 30 funded childcare hours during the UNPAID period of maternity leave? All the websites I have found only say that you are eligible if you are taking PAID maternity leave. If I take the full year of maternity leave then the final 3 months would be unpaid, and I'm not sure if I'd still be entitled to the funding.
Thanks!

Oh blimey, I hadn't even thought about this, will be unpaid in August/September. Interested in any replies!

My funded childcare lasted throughout both the statutory maternity pay and the 3 months where I wasn't paid. I am in the private sector. Are you in the U.K.?

I'd suggest contacting your local Family Information Service- they will be able to answer your questions

Yes I'm in the UK, I work in the NHS. I think I might be ok. My SMP will stop mid April next year, and I have to apply for 30 hours for summer term in Feb or March so think I may be ok...?

I think you will be OK op as there is a 3 month grace period when earnings can fall and entitlement is not cut - this should cover the unpaid period of mat leave (one of its intentions I think).
