Oh god me either - 3 days off is just evil isn't it? And it's a zoo here today. Oh well - gearing myself up for another day of chaos!

crace · 08/05/2007 08:54

PS - Katy, you can have my 16 mo dd - she doesn't sleep through the night still.

ALLLL yours!

MaureenMLove · 08/05/2007 08:56

Morning people! [Mo dances in]. I'm in a terribly good mood today. Might be because we've got an Inset day today, so although I'm up witht he larks for mindees, there's no rushing.

I tried to stick with the bar last night, Soshable, but I only left for 20 mins to eat my dinner and I couldn't keep up again! Maybe I should try dropping in at the end when everyone is tired and its not so fast.

On a completely different subject, does anyone know how long it takes for Paypal to debit your account for an Ebay sale? DH bought new mother board [yawn!] over a week ago and the money still hasn't come out of our account, but he's got the goods and positive feedback has been left.

Katymac · 08/05/2007 09:39

No ides about paypal - sorry

Does anyone know where I can get new elastic for my trampoline (the small one) - the mindees have broken it

LoveMyGirls · 08/05/2007 09:55

No idea sorry KM.

Today is not goig so well, dd2 is miserable still from having her MMR and has temp so decided to stay in this morning (she's in bed having a nap now)

I've got a new mindee who is doing ok but does have a tendancy to push dd2 which is not good when she's not feeling her best, his mum sent him with a damp cot so i hung it on the line and also put double buggy out there as it was nice and suny and it washed yesterday - then it started absolutly hammering it down so now both are soaking!!

Luckily i dont need the buggy today but i do need mindees coat and it says not to tumble dry but ive had to put it in anyway on a low heat and hope for the best!

Al in all not going well. I've been used to only having my after schooler for the past few weeks so today is a bit of a shock to the system as ive got another mindee whose been on hols coming back today, hes always a bit shaky when he comes back.

I feel a large glass of wine will be consumed later!

smeeinit · 08/05/2007 09:58

katymac, wickes do some stretchy elastic that would be perfect for a small trampoline.
maureen, paypal should take about 5days if it was an instant bank transfer? if it was a e cheque it could take up to 2 weeks.

Shoshable · 08/05/2007 11:15

Took mindee back to drs today for mum, usually sees the useless drs in the practice who has ben saying for months that she has acold and to give her calpol, saw my dr today who gave her AB's as she has a sinus infection and wants to see her agin in 10 days!

Thanks for Paypal tips, will keep an eye. Just annoying tho, keep checking my balances and keep getting excited that I've got more money than I thought!

Is it wrong that I've persauded mindees and dd to do gluing and sticking, as the pc is in the 'doing' room? They'll be quiet for hours now!

dmo · 08/05/2007 13:26

hate going back on tuesdays its a really busy day
love mondays as they break me in
and its poring down today so got soaked going to school at 9am and to pre-school at 11.30am

mumlove · 08/05/2007 14:01

Ok just sat down for a coffee.
I had bad childminder wrote across my forehead this morning as I forgot to take the nappies to toddler group with us! Luckly I didn't need them.
Katymac - like smeeinit said try a diy store for the elastic.

Shoshable · 08/05/2007 14:17

Mum I forgot to take the whole bag, drinks, snacks, MONEY everythingto soft play two weeks ago, luckily another CM paid us in and got us some drinks! and its not the first time I have done it

crace · 08/05/2007 14:30

Haven't we all done it?

Well, lost my two morning mindees and now just down to one this afternoon until 4. My own dd has just fallen asleep at 2, and of course I have to wake her in 15 mins for the school run! Bless her - you will hear her crying for counties. What's the saying about sleeping babes..? Sigh

MaureenMLove · 08/05/2007 15:19

crace - First you say we've all done it and then you say you've 'lost' 2 mindees! I trust you mean they've gone home!!

We've had a making day today. Inset day, so 1 schoolie and my dd. dd has given him (7) a science lesson. She mixed corn flour and water and demonstrated that you could punch and it would be solid, but put your fingers in it and its a liquid! Ooo - exciting I hear you cry!

Then we made playdough as per thread last week. My arms are weak with mixing and kneeding!

crace · 08/05/2007 15:32

Lost, gone home - same difference.

Magic cornflour - so much fun isn't it?

julia5 · 08/05/2007 16:05

Down to 1 mindee now, had 2 others all day, 1 boy age nearly 3 (but why, ju? why?aaargh) plus his bro aged 18 weeks (BF baby wont take bottle aaargh aaaaargh aaaargh) from 9.30 to 2.30. This mindee, boy, age 2 is still pretty much non-verbal phew although he said 'why, ju, why' earlier grrr. He's playing with my own DSs so am grabbing quick coffee before tea time. He'll be off 5 ish (supposed to come 8.30 but mum didnt drop til 8 45 kiss kiss hug hug Yeah yeah but we're gonna be late for school don't you just hate that. I'm going to have to have a 'word' IYKWIM) sigh

MaureenMLove · 08/05/2007 16:20

Breathe Julia!! Take 5. (Mo hands her the biscuit tin) What a day you've had. Don't you just hate late arrivals, especially if they make you late for school. I have a strict rule now. If you are not there by 8.25 don't come til after 9. We actually leave a 8.30, but it can take 5 minutes to hand over. I've got another 2 hours to go. Baby mindee going at 5.15 and 7 year old going at 6.15. The next hour is manic though, 7 yr old needs feeding, baby starts getting grumpy & hungry (she eats at home), dd needs to do homework, chores and ready for Guides. Roll on 6.15!

hennipenni · 08/05/2007 16:25

Hello, people, is it me or are there lots of new minders on here now?

julia5 · 08/05/2007 16:26

Mmmmm that's better. I like your rule, think I'm going to steal it for my own . Tomorrow will be better just the 1 mindee so provided he arrives on time we'll have loads of one-to-one. And I'm off again, back after 5 . Thanks for biscuits MaureenMLove mwah

MaureenMLove · 08/05/2007 16:29

In the Staff Room or MN in general?

hennipenni · 08/05/2007 16:33

On this thread. I do post occasionally but not as much as I used to.

All my under 5's have gone home, one after schoolie playong outside with the swingball/slide/swing with DD (both aged 9) so can relax a tiny bit now.

MaureenMLove · 08/05/2007 16:38

I've only been on mn for about 4 months, so I could be new I suppose! I didn't know the staff room had been around before, only saw it last week for the first time.

Shoshable · 08/05/2007 17:11

I've been her forever or so it seems, mine all gone just waiting to see if I can pick Father up from hospital!
