With my second due in 9 weeks, I'm looking for a nanny or similar to help me 5/6 days a week from 4-7pm from August 1st for a few months. Anyone looking for a post or any recommendations how to find someone without necessarily going down the expensive agency route. How much should I be looking to pay as well? Any advice welcome!

i would say as you have not many hours (and arguably unsociable finishing at 7pm) i would suggest at least £30 net per day, and even more for a weekend day.

advertise on nannyjob (i think they now cahrgae parents (was free but people were playing putting silly jobs on there so they now charge a small fee to help deter time wasters) and gum tree whihc is free.

IMO all agencies do is check references (and some dont even get that far ) so i wouldnt bother with that, so long as you make sure you check references your self.
