Childcare Needed - Sevenoaks, Brasted or Sundridge???

Right as the house that we had made an offer on has now been pulled from the market we are going to look at a house in Brasted near Westerham on Thursday and it looks lovely - but need to scout out childcare options - have a DS who is 2.5 and a DD who is nearly 7 - she will go to Ide Hill or Sundridge & Brasted Primary and will need picking up and dropping off Monday - Wednesday and DS will need to be cared for Monday to Wednesday too.

Ide Hill don;t have before school and after school clubs as is a very small school - not been able to get in touch with S & B primary but I think it unlikely that they do either - so are you a resident round there or have kids that go to a childminder or even a childminder who has vacancies??

DD is an angel - never naughty and very happy - DS is a little bugger but a cute one who does what everyone else except me tells him. B ut they are on the whole lovely little kids.

We will, if we like the house and they accept our offer probably find somewhere to rent over there in the next month or so so DD can start school before the summer holidays and generate a social life and DS can settle in also.

So can anyone help me????

I have no idea about childcare in Brasted but having lived there I would say don't!! The A25 is the most horrendously awful road ever which pases right through the centre of the village, and you are also flanked at the rear by the M25. Unless of course you have a thing for thundering lorries and permanant traffic noise of course. Until you live near a road like that you cannot appreciate how it will drive you insane! We lasted all of 18 months before moving on - pretty village to drive through, but I would think very carefully about actually living there...

Wouldn't advise Brasted, even if you're off the A25, you'll never ever get anywhere as you'll always be trying to turn onto it against the traffic. Sundridge is the same, Westerham is slightly better. Bit of a trek for secondary schools though (thinking a bit further ahead) especially as Kent still have grammars. Plus there's not a shop, just an off-licence.
No help either with childcare, sorry, but I do know a brilliant Saturday ballet school in Brasted!
