C/M Club: How does an assistant work?....

I really want to get an assistant to take over my current mindees while I take maternity leave wayyyy in the future. I don't want to make money, I just don't want to lose my mindees.

How does that work, will she/he need to be a qualified C/M to be able to be left alone with them? Or is an assistant allowed to do that? What can an assistant do?

TIA

I think everyone has been in the 'au pair p*ssing me off' thread!!!!

I think they need to be registered as they will be left alone with the children and so need to go through all the redtape.
is there a childminder friend who would be able to help you out?!

Do you want someone to come to your house, or could another CM have them just for the duration of your maternity leave (at the other CM's house)?

I was thinking of having someone work in my house and therefore not distrupting the relationship I am just building with my mindee (only have had since Feb) but it doesn't look like this will be possible.

Oh well just a thought

would you be able to get hubby to become registered so that when you are on ML he can look after them??

how long were you planning on having leave for?
