Sorry you are quitting- hope you get the letter sorted. On behalf of the parents can you please make sure that they all get the letter at the same time. My last cm ( not my current wonderful one) gave the parents who came on Monday their letter and waited until Thursday to give me mine, as I was on my way to work. I was distraught all day.
I am sure you will handle it much better!

I'm only quitting because we are moving from Scotland to England. I intend to register when I move. Have never done the notice thing, very apprehensive.. All parents will get their letter today, even though I don't ahve mindee 2, I will give it his mum.
I have written it 6 times and just can't get it right

Dear xxx

It is with regret that I have to give you my notice for caring for xxx. We are moving to xxxx (for xxxx reason? if you like) which means my last date for work is xxx.

I've loved looking after xxxx, he/she's felt like part of the family. As a childminder it makes the job that little bit more special when you really get a bond with a child.

I know this will be an upheaval for you. You can contact xxx (Scot equiv of CIS?) for a list of childminders on (tel number) (or recommend a friend?). If there's another way I can help let me know!

It's really been a pleasure working with your family, and I wish you all the best.

lunavix's letter was good, something short and to the point but at same time saying how happy you were with their child.
maybe suggest alternative 'friend' childminders, or the number for cis or something similar?.good luck
