i will start at the begginning

my son and mindee both go the cubs on a weds night 6.15 - 7.30pm

mindees mum got her car stolen ages ago so i offered to keep mindee feed hin dinner and take him to cubs with ds

i then offered her my car to use as i didnt use it as her journey to work lasted 1 hr on the bus but we still kept the arrangement that i take mindee to cubs (i didnt mind)

anyway last week a letter was sent home to say cubs are having a sports day and would we drop the boys off at local park it weather was nice, i reminded mindees mum weds morning and said i would phone cub leader at 5ish to find out where they should be at the park or in the centre

anyway 5pm phoned cub leader and because of the wind etc they would be meeting in the centre so i got both boys feed in uniforms and took them to centre.

at 7.15 set off from my house to pick ds up saw mindees mum as i was leaving and she has a face on her but never thought more of it

this morning mindee came in and said his mum was really mad at me as i had not phoned her to tell her where they were and his mum had gone to the park

so i got really cross and phone her and said that she knew i was phoning cub leader at 5pm if she wanted to know she should have phoned cub leader or myself and then i also said i wasnt a teather or cub leader and only get the same info as she does and from now on she could pick her son up from mine at 5.10pm and take him to cubs herself which she said was fine.

i am always getting parents phone me up and ask if they are off such a day or what date do they break up for easter i am sick of it now i only get the same information as everybody else its just that i write it down

people like that really irritate me!

I have a similar thing at work (I work in an office ) and altough we are all given a list of peoples extentions I always have someone ask me what X's number is - I don't know, do I look like directory enquiries?!?!?

I can't believe she had a go at you after you have bent over backwards to help her!

I hope you charge her double for 'after hours care'

Go Girlfriend!>..well done for putting your foot down, you went far beyond call of duty, like ive said to you before ands he still took the mick!

KaySamuels · 26/04/2007 13:00

the cheek!
Good for you dmo, don't offer help again if it's not appreciated!

mogs0 · 26/04/2007 14:31

How rude!!

I have made a concious effort not to offer my help all the time! It's an automatic reaction for me to offer to help but often it makes my life more complicated and isn't always appreciated.

I hope the mum realises that you have been doing her a big favour the with the cubs drop off and grovels lots and lots!!

well tonight uncle picked mindee up in the car so this means mum drove home and then got uncle to pick mindee up.
uncle never picks mindee up unless mum is away
wonder if he will turn up tomorrow

Oh dmo.. what a pain. Seriously I don't blame you for being angry with her, it's a lot of cheek after you bent over backwards for her. Plus she could have said something directly to you, rather than have her son do it!

Honestly..

Hi dmo hope it goes ok today and he turns up and the mother apoplogises to you for being unreasonable.

dmo · 27/04/2007 09:23
