NYE Babysitter rates

Just been quoted upwards of £100 for 5-6 hours of babysitting on NYE. Seems very high-I live in an affluent area of the South East. Anyone experience of this ?

Seems reasonable £10 an hour is going rate round here, but being new year you’d expect to pay double time?

Thankyou-I guess you're right .

How many children do you have? £100 seems correct.

£15 per hour would not be unusual. depends on what the babysitter usually charges, it would typically be 1.5 times usual rate for NYE.

Can't find a babysitter for New Year's Eve in Stratford Upon Avon?
My boyfriend works in the hospitality industry and I am seeking a babysitting job for the evening. I am reliable, experience and have good common sense.

27 years old, own transport. Currently babysit for a family twice a week and would be able to provide a good reference.

Please message me if interested. Rates are £10 per hour.

Fairly typical for NYE I have charged triple rate in past as no preference either way to work or not work NYE but willing to do it if being paid well.

Bobbybobbins · 06/12/2017 21:19

I agree that that sounds about right.

underneaththeash · 06/12/2017 21:52

We were quoted £20/hour in West Hampstead in 2009. We haven't been out at NY since.

StayCalmMary · 28/12/2017 21:51

I get paid 17 euro an hour on a normal day!! So, in Dublin you would expect double that on NYE! The question is would you work NYE for less?? Sounds about right for the U.K!!!

RavenWings · 28/12/2017 21:54

I mean NYE is a huge night of the year, many babysitters want to go out themselves on that night. If you want a very popular night, that means paying a premium imo.

yorkshireyummymummy · 28/12/2017 21:54

Bloody hell.
Is this REALLY what people charge for babysitting??
I think I might advertise my services!!
