CM Club: So will OFSTED slap my wrist, strike me off or ignore me?

Katymac · 18/04/2007 20:53

I have been nominated for a business award

All the advertising has gone out with my business name incorrect

& OFSTED might do me for mis-representation

I am well annoyed

They can't change the wording in the local paper
Grrrrrrr

And OFSTED will go ape at me being called a NURSERY - I'm CHILDMINDING

Grrr
Grrrrr
& words to that effect

What do you think OFSTED'll do...will I be in big trouble?

I don't do childminding, but from a naive perspective I would ask the paper to print a correction in the next edition...that should help and as far as the paper is concerned is probably all you can do now.

Katymac · 18/04/2007 21:34

I guess they will

I hope the programmes haven't been printed yet

They just don't get what a big deal this is - I hope OFSTED are reasonable (but they aren't known for it}

They are going to close me down - I know they are

Well actually maybe not - but they will tell me off - I might get an official reprimand

Oh bu&&er

are you paying for this add?, in which case i wouldnt pay or say you want to claim your money back as its false representation and no good as advertising as you are NOT a nursery!..whoever printed/wrote it should get bollocked!..ofsted wont care as its stoopid papers fault!

nannynick · 18/04/2007 23:09

Would Ofsted even know about it? Depends how much publicity there is, if it's very local then they may not even pick up on it. If it hits national press, then it may spotted but would anything actually happen.

Ultimately what rule do you break? Can't think of an Ofsted one off hand... may be one under Trading Standards remit, but even then not sure they would be that fussed.

Do let us know what happens.

Katymac · 19/04/2007 08:05

You can only call yourself a nursery - if you are a nursery

It's the awards people who have done the advertising

I'm going to ring my Network Co-Ordinator this am to ask her what to do

I feel so vunerable atm

OP posts:
PinkChick · 19/04/2007 08:16

but you havent done anything wrong?, they have wrote nursery, they should put it right, you didnt mislead them.ofsted wont be botherd i wouldnt think, if you feel strongly, maybe you could write to them and explain your awards people have wrongly put nursery, you had nothing to do with it and are currently trying to put it right.

PinkChick · 19/04/2007 08:17

whats up Katymac, doesnt sound like you to worry about something like this, you KNOW you havent done anything wrong and can explain the situaion if needed.
it is up to them to change it otherwise you would be in the wrong catagory.

Katymac · 19/04/2007 08:34

It's quite funny really I am up against a computer place & an evening dress hire (what n earth should I wear for a Black Tie Gala Awards Dinner - she will be dressed exactly right )

I guess they din't notice my company name (on each page I sent them, on my website, on all brochures etc)or the fact that I childmind, and that I employ Childminders

It shows how much people know about C/Ming

Any way I am being judged at 9am this am

See The Apprentice last night with the "natural" lollies?

See if I was Sir Alan I'd have sacked the woman who made that mistake.. anything that could put your team in court really ought to be a sackable offence.

Katymac · 19/04/2007 12:52

vimfuego??

Sorry I don't get the relevance?

OP posts:
vimfuego · 19/04/2007 12:55
