How to start building a relationship before meeting in person

I’m starting a job at the end of January in London (I’m from Canada) and I’m very excited for it. I’ve aupaired before and the last time I found a family two months before leaving to work for them. I’m not sure if it’s differences in families or the fact that this time I was offered the job a lot further away from my departure date but we just don’t have anything to talk about. We were in contact about once a week after I accepted the job to work out contracts and discuss my visa but since I was approved we haven’t talked at all. I would like to skype with them as it’s getting closer to me leaving but I’m not sure what to talk about. I’m not the best at thinking of topics, it’s a lot easier when I’m in person. I’m wondering if anyone had ideas of what to talk so we can start to build a relationship and learn a bit more about each other before I move in with them haha

Routine, local area and travelling around it?
Is there anything they’d like you to bring from Canada to show children?

I think it’s rare to speak that much tbh though.
