Well title says it all really, how do I become a home childminder, advertise my services, do it all properly and also what does a childminder charge.
Im thinking ahead to after my next baby is born (not yet even a glimmer btw) chilminding seems to be the perfect option for me in terms of bringing in a bit of money, I used to nanny in my college years for a family although I never had any qualifications.

First step is to contact your local Children's Information Service and ask them for the childminder application pack. www.childcarelink.gov.uk will give you your local CIS phone number.

Prices vary quite a bit - have a look through messages on this board for an idea of prices charged.

Registration process can be 3 months or sometimes a little longer, so plan ahead and say contact CIS 5 months or so before you plan to start childminding.
