ok, I'm convinced a childminder is the way forward. Can anyone recommend one in central London? Near London Bridge, ideally.

I'm looking for a few days a week for my 1 year old. Preferably someone with some outside space, as we have no garden. Pretty please?

have a look at the link i just put on other thread

Thanks looneytune . That's the site I'd looked at already. I've called some of them, but wondered if anyone had a personal recommendation because the thought of leaving my baby in someone else's house is making me panic.

Oh, I totally understand!! And it's always good to get recommendations, just wasn't sure you'd seen the site at that point.

Good luck with your search

Good luck, hopefully some Londoners out there will see this. Otherwise, you will know when you go to see the c/m, I would go with your instincts.

bump

Do you live local?

There are always 'childminders playgroups' as a way of getting to know them and hearing the 'gossip'.

I do live local but am hopeless at mum and baby groups. What are childminders playgroups? I'm thinking of putting him in a nursery for one morning a week just to get some info on childcare!

It's certainly easier to consider a childminder if you've seen her at groups with her other mindees.

Altnernatively, you might want to talk to your local NCT? They might have personal recommendations?
