oh gawd!!
Am so frazzled this week too!!
Its the pits in all honesty!!!

KaySamuels · 23/03/2007 08:41

I often post on here to have a moan, love my job in terms of working with kids but hate all the red tape paperwork and payment worries! Just wish parents would be a little more respectful of the fact I have bills to pay/mouths to feed with the money they (eventually) pay me.

We will have to hang in there together, sounds strange but I can't wait for the sun to come out more, makes childminding much more pleasant!

Kay, have had the same problem. Mindee 2's mum decided at 8.15 yeasterday that she was having the day off (she was having today off as well, but had let me know). She didn't pay me on Wednesday as "her tax credits hadn't gone in" and she couldn't pay me out of her or her Dh's salary because they needed it for bills and food! Er what about me.
Then mindee 1 didn't turn up until 10.15. no phone call until 10 am, he should have been here at 8am. Then she turned up at 2 to pick him up, but again never let me know she would be early

Kay if you saw my thread yesterday about a family coming to me who still hadn't signed contracts, well gave then till last night still didn't bring them, so have now given to the other family who wanted the space. Why cant people be organized.

KaySamuels · 23/03/2007 08:48

I don't know if it makes me feel better that we all go through it or if it makes me feel more mad!
That's so cheeky saltire I would live out of cupboards and freezer if I owed someone money that they I know they rely on!
Good for you shosha in giving place to someone else, if they were messing you about already it was probably for the best.

good for you shosha!! I dont blame you at all! Your right kay, it is just the red tape and payment worries, that is all that is the pits about CM!!

you have all given me the bottle to say sign/return or else to the new people today!!

haha!! dontcha just love fridays!!!

ShoshableEggEater · 23/03/2007 08:57

Kay I have still to tell the 1st familty formally that the space id not available anynore, they didnt bring the contracts back as requested yesterday, so hve given it to the other family, but do I now phone 1st family or what

KaySamuels · 23/03/2007 09:04

I would take the high ground I think shosha, give them a courtesy call to let them know space is no longer available in a pleasant, calm manner. Bet they will be kicking themselves... all out of spaces around you I think I recall you saying, surely they would have an inkling of the high demand for a place if they are looking themselves?

Ugh, those parents Shosha! Well done to you though, I think if they are this unreliable now.. you probably saved yourself a lot of hassle.

I think a courtesy call is appropriate too, though I am sure they will be disappointed (even if it is their own fault!). A letter?

crace · 23/03/2007 09:27

Kay - oh no! The NERVE of her! She best pay you tonight - that is hideous that she didn't even send lunch money or bus money. Nevermind not paying you!

Rant away

KaySamuels · 23/03/2007 09:38

She will probably come at the eleventh hour (sometimes literally) to avoid me charging her a late payment fee, which she would get if she brought me it a day late.
