We have a delightful and responsible au pair who has been with us all year. She has great au pair friends. Last night she was out in Manchester but returned home at 2 in a taxi with her friends. She was completely delirious, sick and couldn't stand up. They had been out for several hours but she is not a heavy drinker and both friends were completely fine. They'd left their drinks on the bar to go outside and a short time later our au pair said she simply can't remember what happened. She also recalls wanting to speak, but the words not coming out. She is mortified and Ive reassured her. She extremely fortunate that her friends were with her. There were two men hovering around insisting they could bring her home.
IT has shaken her and us. We will of course report this once we have spoke. To the other au pairs. They are all responsible Young women who were looking after each other.
