CM - What do you do when you get a new child and you know that the parents have been to see them too?

Does that make any sense?

Someone came to see me after seeing every other CM around here.........I have got the little boy to look after!

Now what do I do about telling the other CM's that I have him, one asked me today if I had had X&Y call, and I said yes they came to see me, but I didn't say anything else!

The only reason I ask is, that I know what it is like waiting for someone to call after they have come to see you..........the other CM I meet today really really thought that she had got him, but was still waiting to hear.

I live in a tiny village, and everyone knows everything!

If it's a tiny village they will find out very soon anyway - so I'd be upfront and tell them. After all they knew that the parents had called you too, so alls fair in love and war....

Agree with mumto3 - be honest but low key about it.

good on you for getting him

when i have new parents come to visit i always give names/addresses of the other cm near me as we each offer something different in personalty/organistion/activitys and parents like to see a varity
i am confident in my setting so i have no worries in parents seeing the other cm and if they chose them thats fine

sometimes when i meet a parent who is really keen but i'm not i give out other cm numbers and then when they phone back to book the place i say i'm full
