But will they turn up?

They have been to see EVERY childminder around me so I know quite a bit about them...........(don't think that the mum has worked that one out yet!)

So lets wait and see...........

Advantage for me is that she wants a space in September and I have a space coming up in September and all the other minders have spaces now and want big retainers!!!

did they come?..even if she doesnt have to pay a retainer, i would still get contract signed for date of commencment..hope it went well?

If the mum wants you then make sure you get a deposit towards the 1st weeks fees.

I had a few september starts last year, that booked up the term before. I got a months deposit from each to reserve the place (I keep that til they leave to cover notice period) plus payment in advance. Got them to come back for visits in summer holidays & start leaving child/settling before sept (apart from 1 that paid full fees but attended half days initially).

I didn't charge a retainer as I didn't have space but ... one parent who had booked til end of august ... she gave notice and left in july!

She turned up and her little one is a true sweetie - she told me he didn't like strangers...........well she has to drag him away from making easter chickens on my knee when she wanted to go!

Just have to wait for 'THE PHONECALL' so fingers crossed for me please and I will keep myself busy (and go out!) so I am not near the phone!

oh thats great!..when was she wanting the care to start????
