Nothing to do with childminding but worried now.

Some mis understanding on ebay has caused MAJOR abuse from the ebayer and guess what they've just threatened..........to report me to OFSTED!!!

WTF!!! What worries me is that ANY complaint of any sort stays on your record doesn't it???? I'm in total SHOCK!

in case you wondered how they know i'm a childminder - my signature strip was attached to the very first email sent.

Ok breathe! What exactly do they think they will achieve and why would OFSTED be the slightest bit interested in what you do on Ebay? Unless, of course, you are selling children!

saltire · 19/03/2007 20:12

Like Princesscc said, what exactly have you done that makes them threaten you with OFSTED? Are you selling children? or your mindees personal details? No, i didn't think so. I can't see that OFSTED would be bothered what you sell on ebay

saltire · 19/03/2007 20:12

While I'm here, if you've been getting abuse from an ebayer, then report them, it's against the rules to abuse another ebayer

looneytune · 19/03/2007 20:18

I wasn't worried about what they have to say but was concerned that I've heard stories about childminders being reported by someone who doesn't like them, making up stories and then even when Ofsted see there is nothing wrong, the complaint still shows on their record as a complaint.

This is what worries me.

No, I'm not selling mindees!!!

Yes, I have reported them to Ebay and put a note saying I'm worried about the abuse and the fact they have some of my personal details.

I can't believe how rude they are being. It wasn't even for me anyway, was for a friend - was doing a favour!!

If it's worrying you as much as it obviously is, why not call your OFSTED inspector or the NCMA advice line and tell them what's happened and ask if they can advise you

princesscc · 19/03/2007 20:23

But surely, these people don't even know you? Do they even live anywhere near you? Surely OFSTED would at least have to have reasonable grounds to investigate an allegation, let alone put it on your records.

looneytune · 19/03/2007 20:24

Don't worry, I'm contacting Ofsted in the morning!!! I'm worried because the content of their emails makes me think they'll try anything!!! Weirdo!!! (not you hehe)

looneytune · 19/03/2007 20:25

They have my website address which gives the area I'm in and if they bothered to research further, could get my address.

I'm probably worrying for nothing but I've heard horror stories on MN about complaints that were made up. One was a mistaken identity - they had the wrong childminder, but it was STILL on their records.

princesscc · 19/03/2007 20:29

OK, I will stop worrying until you tell me to! I could get dh to pay them a visit if they're not too far from us. Second thoughts, I'm a cm - I don't want it on my record!!!

Rubybees · 19/03/2007 20:42

Just a thought unless Ofsted did find something wrong it doesn't go onto your report now anyway so even if anything did come about nothign would happen.

Unless your really selling children

StrawberrySnowflakes · 19/03/2007 20:47

what a t*t..them not you

looneytune · 19/03/2007 20:53

Oh good, have they changed their silly system at last?? I was worried due to experiences shared on mumsnet but maybe they've changed the way they deal with complaints now!

Selling children on ebay...........now there's an idea!!!
