Have noticed more and more childminders are setting up their own websites which all look great (looked at all the ones mentioned in the vacancies thread).

Would really like to do one but don't have a clue where to start! Do these websites take a while to put together? How do I go about it? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi, I think it really depends on the site. I have customers (I do websites in my spare time, mainly childminders) who have 1 page, 5 pages and up to 15-20 pages. Therefore the amount of content varies a lot. If you have all your content on word or something already, you would probably find it quicker as could copy and paste a lot of it. Mine take a little longer (but work late at night etc) because I'm putting in images, photo galleries sometimes etc. and the images are usually specific to their business name (i.e. Imps and Angels needed images of imps/devils and angels so took a little longer to find iyswim).

If you want some more idea's, have a look at my website www.web-designs4u.co.uk and go to the childminder page. Please note I'm working on this website at the moment so not all the images are coming through at the moment - but when you click on them, it's fine and launches the customers website.

Hi Ya
I did mine with mrsite.co.uk and I could highly recommend for doing it yourself with having basic knowledge of computers.
It took me less than 2hrs to come up with this www.cwmbranchildminder.co.uk including photos etc. Its cheap and does the job in a simple stress free process.

ive done mine through www.freewebs.com
its good because its free (obviously!) i just paid £7 a year to keep ads off the site.
i just wanted something that gives enough detail without having pages and pages of things to trawl through!
its been up and running around 4 weeks and ive had my first call from it so its working!!
