My C/M friend made a mistake, what to do?

My friend is just becoming a childminder, starting in April. She's OFTED registered. I originally had dd down with her for 2 days p/w, and in our local nursery for another 2 days (I work 4 days p/w). Then she got some full timers so couldn't take dd for one of the days (this is before we'd made formal arrangements). OK, so I use the day nursery for the other day as well. But now she's realised she got her numbers wrong and has booked in too many! She can just about take dd still for half a day, and a full day in the school holidays. Not sure whether to try and work around this, or just to try and use our local nusery instead.
To complicate matters, I have an interview for another job (which would be F/T) on Friday! I took the interview thinking if I got the job, dd could go to my friend for the extra day (we thought she still had spaces then)....

Think you know the answer really. Personally i would either find another childminder to fit the days you want or go full time in a nursery.

Agree with nzshar. She's full, and the only thing she could do is give notice to one of the kids. But, she probably won't want to do that. I'd just go with the nursery, or possibly a different childminder.

I guess you are right - I really wanted to support my friend, and dd loves her. She did make a genuine mistake and was pretty upset about it. I haven't rung the nusery yet to see if there are still places for the extra day, there probably will be tho.

rather than messing you around and your dd for half a day i would use the nursery or find a childminder for 2 full days

my friend did suggest that she could apply for another local c/m (someone she already knows) to be her assistant, so then she could take more children. I've not met this person though, and obviously it would take time to get her on board. DD goes to school in sept! I think I will ring the nursery. Am just disappointed cos dd loves my friend and her dd is my dd's best mate.
