Hi All
I do work for Social Services and I have now been asked to pick up and drop off a 1yr old 2days a week for just 2hrs aday and I got to pick days/times which were convienent for me!
Before when I did work at extremly short notice I charge £15 for 1.5hrs.However this is a bit more long term and I have notice so will charge my normal £3.50 ph but what do I charge for the pick up and drop off?
The journey is only about 1.5miles.
Can anyone suggest/help for me pls?

I would charge them like I would for dropping off and collecting from school, I start the fee from when I need to get ready to collect the child. So you could charge them for an extra hour (1/2 hr for each journey).

I think you have to charge for your time, not your petrol, otherwise it will contravene something-or-other (brain not in gear). You will be putting the mileage down on your expenses for tax.

thats a good point TP!
So do u think £3.50 for the journey is about right?

£3.50 is for an hour of your time, so sounds really fair.
