Hi to all you lovely ladies and gents out there!

My certificate states that I can mind 5 children under 8, of which 2 may be under 5 and 1 under 1. My own dd is going to school in Sept so i presume my number ratio will rise to three under five? or will I have to wait until dd is 5 before i can take another mindee?

It is soooo confusing??

Your DD dosnt count as 5 till she is at school full time, ie 10 sessions a week, and I think you then need to inform Ofsted to have your certificate changed.

what i did (which was prob over the top but hey)
was to send a photocopy of the dc's birth certifates about 2 weeks b4 their b/day and ofsted just sent me a new certificate

btw this was when my dc's turned 8 as i didnt childmind until they were both at school

You definitely need to contact Ofsted (in writing) to get your certificate changed. You can't just have another child without their say-so.
