Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who helped me out when i was looking for my temp nanny, it's working out so well!

I had my 2nd child by section last week, and my temp nanny started at the beginning of the week to help with my toddler mainly but also help with the newborn. In some ways she was a bit of a 'risk' as she's 5 months pregnant, but BOY is she a big hit!

She's fabulous with both children, very hands on and easy going. She does 'non nanny' stuff without being asked (dishwasher, washing up, shopping etc) and has been such a help to all of us.

Anyway, just wanted to thank all those who helped me out.

well i know youll have enough on your mind at the minute, but maybe you could send someone out for a card and box of chocs/smellies to papmer herself with??..its nice to feel appreciated esp if shes going above and beyond..just dont ask her to get them whilst shes doing you shopping for you

I think you should send her off for a nice pregnancy massage. (if it's in the budget)

spudballoo · 18/02/2007 14:19

Oh that's a good idea. I'm already sending her home for a few hours each day on the days my toddler is a nursery so she can have a rest (paid of course!), but perhaps I'll get her a voucher to go off and have a massage one day.

She really is fab. Wasn't at all thrown last week when my planned section moved forward a day as I started with early labour. And happily stayed until midnight to babysit (so we gave her the next day off). My son just adores her, and is happily being put down for naps/bedtime etc, eats everything she puts in front of him etc. I'm a bit jealous, of course, of all the the lovely cuddles they have together as I can't lift my son at the moment. But BOY am I am so so happy that he WANTS to have cuddles with her, it means she was such a good choice.

anyway, I just wanted to say thank you. I know lots of threads on here are looking for advice sorting 'issues', so thought I'd add one of a very positive nature.

I wonder if I can keep her for, say, the next 18 years or so?!
