Well done I had someone round on Wed, someone coming today and another coming on Tues next week. Had a call about half hour ago too but said I'd call them back after meeting today.

So, there was me worrying like MAD but fingers crossed something comes out of these visits!

One is for Mon & Tues, another for Mon-Thurs, another for Wed & Thurs and a Mon-Fri after nursery run. So, a few of them could work out well, just need to make them want ME!!!!

Good luck SS, let us know how you get on. We're both in the same boat at the moment so could support each other?!

cool Lonneytune, yeah we'll support each other eh?..youll be busy but youll be earning mroe again.
jsut called our toy libary as i hire my double buggy from them to ask to maybe renew hire term)(fingers crossed) and whilst chatting she said they also have travel cots to hire(all are like new, if anything dirty/broken they replace immediatly)..and...the girl who i deal with is 21 weeks pg and she said although very very early days...she would like me to have her baby as she has to go more or less straight back to work and was saying last night to her dh that she didnt want to put baby in nursery!..she only lives two roads away from me..so although many moons away, she is also pencilling me in..keep em coming

Report

StrawberrySnowflakes · 16/02/2007 16:15

so the little baby..shes a year old(dad sounded unsure??)..i would normally charge normal rate for (£3 per hour), the toddler will be part time so i would normally charge £4 per hour, plus food if he needs dinner before he leaves, which i assume he will(6.30pm)
this means(dare i say it dont want to speak too soon!!!??) £60 a week..£30 a week less than when i had two full timers but its not fuill time work and £60 per week is £240 a month to pay off this flipping holiday????oooooooooooooooo...ive got everything crossed

is that all you get strawberry?

half term this week i get £650
normally get £500 a week

Report

crace · 16/02/2007 18:20

How do you get that much?? I only get £400 a month for my full time baby. I have 2 spaces availble though but couldn't imagine swinging that per week - that would be fab!!

Well done StrawberrySnowflakes

2nd meeting finished and she told me she was VERY positive and just wanted to speak to partner etc. She knew about the phone call today and told me to tell them she's pretty confident as met other childminders and knew straight away it was a no So, fingers crossed. Little girl was LOVELY. She said she'll call before Tuesday so that if she signs up, I don't waste my time with the meeting about the nursery run (was concerned about not much money and not being able to fill the morning).

SO I feel and so do you

Fingers crossed for you, keep us posted and I'll let you know if she signs up!

Funny business this. One minute panicking like mad and then 5 enquiries within days! Wish is was always that simple! This time of year always seems to be more popular round here! (thank god!)

nannynick · 16/02/2007 18:57

Great news all round then... sounds like things are beginning to pick up for you two. With luck your good luck will rub off onto other mumsnetter childminders looking to fill vacancies.

thanks everyone
DMO, i get between £480-£600 per month off mindee one(full timer) at present, the £60 would be off the baby one day a week, then the toddler 3 afternoons a week, so as long as i get the two new tots on ill get at least £720 in a four week month/ £900 in a five!..am very about that..but please keep your fingers crossed for me, i havent got them here yet

I am definitely living in the wrong area! I guess this is what I get for being rural - hopefully things change but it's not looking good sadly.

Great to SS and Looneytune that things are on the up and up
