How ready are you if you have to begin work at this time of a morning?
I have two coming up, one this week(followed by a 32 hour shift ie:6am one day to 3.30pm the next day)

Now i will be up and dressed, but surely i cant be expected to have my dd up and ready, breakfast out of way and raring to go.....can i?????????

my kids r still in bed when my mindees come in morning
we dnt have to hav our kids up n ready
how unfair would that be
Its our childrens home so Y should they suffer.

I don't start at 6am but I do have 6.45am starts 3 times a week. As long as I'm ready, that's all that matters. Ds will then be ready by the time we have to leave for school. When they arrive I get them dressed and ready for breakfast and then the older one will sit down to breakfast with my ds.

As for how ready am I...........I used to find it VERY hard to be up and ready all fresh for them but you do get used to it! Once I answered the door in my dressing gown because the doorbell woke me up (alarm didn't go off as battery dead) and I felt awful but they said it really doesn't matter.

I definitely wouldn't make my ds be ready for 6am.

HTH

yeah well i will be getting up about 15 minutes before and throwing some clothes on as im not an early morning person..but am not getting up super early to sort everyone else out, i think and early start like this, they should expect curlers and pyjamas!

I only have to be ready for 7am but its still early as I get up at 5.45 to make sure I am ready, house is tidied and I've gotten all the equipment ready. Put dishes away etc.

But I never usually have breakfast eaten myself, DH is usually just getting up and in the shower, DS up and dressing himself and then I have my own baby to get ready. But the LO I watch doesn't come dressed either and sometimes needs feeding as well so I do an assembly line later!

StrawberrySnowflakes · 12/02/2007 12:19

well dp will still be in bed/getting ready for work, dd will need getting ready for school and well all need breakfast about 7.30.
all tidying clothes out etc will be done night before too

Strawberry, if I had to get up at 6am you'd bet I would have showered the night before and hopped up at 5.45 to greet them for 6.

Surely they expect that early of a start that you need to get the rest of your family later. I certainly would if I was dropping my own children at that time.

StrawberrySnowflakes · 12/02/2007 13:04

it was just looking back at that thread a while ago about 'what we do' wonderred if getting own dc's ready and myself etc was seen as 'chores'

crace I got up this am at 5.45 so I could just have a wash and get dressed before mindee arrived at 6am (had shower last night),anyway got down stairs at 5.50 to let my cat in and found the family waiting on the doorstep!. I did this early start as a favour (have some more to do later this week)and in future will not leave the beroom until one minute before they are due to arrive

crace · 12/02/2007 13:53

Yikes! Thats a bit keen, 6 is early enough!

When do you finish?

PS Straw did I read tht right, you have them straight to 3.30 next day??

hennipenni · 12/02/2007 14:00

Part-time today, mindee 1 has gone home already and the other one will go at 3.30!

StrawberrySnowflakes · 12/02/2007 14:07
