I have a baby starting this week and is coming 3 days at 1.5hrs just to get use to surroundings before he starts full days the week later.
Im not charging for this but just wondering what everyone else does??

i give 2 sessions of 2hrs free of charge as a settling in period
i alway say to the parents that i am more then willing to do more hours in the settling in sessions but these have to be paid for at my normal hourly rate

i suppose it depends on the child as to how my settling in sessions they need

I charge for any time that I care for a child by myself. If a parent is there as well, then I don't charge.

I charged for mine.. I figured it was still working - even if it was to get to know each other..

This last time it even helped the parents as they were moving house and needed to get on with stuff.

My cm didn't charge - but tbh I wouldn't have minded paying.

i think its a kind gesture to offer a few hours free but its up to the cm i suppose
