Hi,
Ive been a childminder for nearly a year now, ive had 2 constant p/t mindees but would like and have vacancies for more. I have school run vacancies to my local school in King's Lynn,( Norfolk )if anyone is interested! But I was just wondering if anyone had tips on where to advertise. Ive tried local shops and library, delivering leaflets etc but is there anything else I could try? Any advice would be appreciated!

Advertising Tips Thread - now quite a big list of on-line places to advertise.

You say you school run vacancies... so perhaps you may want to start by filling those.
What advertising can you do AT SCHOOL? Contact the receptionist, they often get to talk to lots of people and once you are on friendly terms with them (if you are not already) they may take your details, should any parent ask them about getting children to/from school.
Is there a school newsletter, school PTA newsletter? Local Advertising can be beneficial (reminds me, need to compose an advert for my local school PTA newsletter).

Posters in your car - on rear side windows for example - Do Not Obstruct Side Driver and Front Passenger Windows.

Postcards on Car, suck in window side gap so that passers by can take a car. Went to a garden centre this afternoon, put two postcards on each side of vehicle, and one was taken. Time will tell if they become a customer.

Take a card, not take a car

i've put business cards in the entrance of our local school espeally as new comers will be getting a nod in march as to if they have a place at the school

but most of my newbies come from word of mouth other parents see me in the playground and talk aswel as my cm buddies

go to playgroups in your area get yourself seen

nannynick:- hahaha that would work, a free car with every new contract!! Yes i think i will try that on the car, and ask again at my kids school. I think its just a matter of time and like you both said 'word of mouth'.thanx

If you subscribe to Yell.com you get free entry into the yellow pages.
I know it costs about £90 to subscribe, but you are in for the year and it is cheaper than some newspaper adverts for the month.

You can get a free "one-liner" in the yellow pages, thompsons and bt business section. But you'll need to pay for an enhanced listing if you want to add more info like a web address.
