Undesirable taxi driver

Hello, can I ask for advice on an undesirable primary school taxi driver my 7 year old has been assigned this term, he is well known in our town as from a troubled family and has appeared on jerremy Kyle twice to my knowledge. Normally I woul have instantly reported to the council but my mother in law also works for this firm, what should I do? I hate confrontation and would rather have complained to council but as I know the firm and my family have ties I cannot deal with it like I usually would?

What you should do is actually give some facts.

Nothing you have said remotely incriminate him is there going to he some massive drip feed about him being in prison for possession of a firearm or something?

Why does it matter mil works for firm. Assuming there was a problem with the driver surely she would want the best for her grandchild?

I don't think it did prove his innocence I'm sure he had been sleeping with the daughter and he actually left the fiancé and had a baby with the daughter 🙈 I watch wayy to much JK and read to many trashy mags! I don't think it would bother me no. If it was the fiancé on the other hand.......

Just to upset the apple cart a little, DS had a taxi driver (SEN school, taxis provided) who was amazing, much better than the ones who had caused loads of problems before. One day he didn't turn up and he'd been lifted for drink driving while transporting drugs!!! Didn't have a clue. OP, is the driver good with your child and a safe driver? Has your child raised concerns? If so, I think you have a case.

Maybe look at different childcare options and get your children on the school waiting lists so they can go to the same place?

Believeitornot, op sounds like she probably has kids at different schools as maybe one is SN and goes to a special school. A lot of children attending special schools qualify for travel via taxis/special buses etc.
As a parent of a daughter who attends a special school, I feel ops pain when you just don't fully trust the adult that is taking your child to school. Had a horrible experience myself. Local authorities want to spend the least money possible so just give the contract to cheapest company at tender.
Op, unfortunately unless your child or you have a complaint I don't think there's much you can do. But I sympathise with the uneasy feeling at somebody taking your baby and you not trusting them

OP, you obviously don’t like this guys lifestyle or the fact he has been on JK, but is there anything at all he has done while transporting your DC that makes you think he is not suitable to transport him? Unless you have some concrete proof that he is not able to drive your DC home safely then i would not be doing anything at all.

Problem is if OP's child has SENs they may not be able to adequately communicate any problems to her. My uncle had problems with a taxi driver taking his neice to her special school; it's really not unheard of. If it were me I would be wanting the driver to be a supremely reliable person.

I think your best bet is to get MiL on board, either to determine whether the guy is decent, it to try and get someone else fostered for the job.
