HI Everyone,

Wow what a great sight, I am so glad I found it, I have learnt so much, including that I have to put CM Club at the start of a thread!!!!! anyway why didnt they recommend this site on the ICP course!??

If anyone can advise on how I advertise in this area, or in general I would really welcome your comments.

I am lucky enough to be minding a ten month old lovely little girl, two days a week at present along with a cute 3 year old boy on a wednesday, although we would like new friends to come and play with us - so vacancies are available....

Besides anyone who perhaps might be interested in that, its nice to see what a great little chat village there is going on here and it would be nice to hear from any local childminders to maybe meet up from time to time and hear from anyone else in this fab world of childminding!

TC

HI Saltire,

Well...Rowner has certainly got a reputation, but do you know what, thats where I am. I have to say we are right over the other side and back onto woodland which leads onto lee on the solent golf club. Our road is dead quiet and the woodland helps too (apart from saucy foxes having it off and squeeling during the night - ahem!!!!).

I dont really know the "patch" in Fareham, but I know that apparently the schools there are slightly better than the ones in Rowner, plus there its less military children there, so less movement in children coming and going like there is at the school here.

That said, Fareham is next to no distance away from here, so once your down.......looks like gosport library is a goer for rhyme times etc hehehe!!! They have a nice cafe in the library (sorry its now called Discovery centre!) and summer time will be fun will the paddling pool at stokes bay beach!!!

I only just recently started childminding and I sooooo cant wait for a bit of sun, so we can get out and about even more :-)

When you hear if you have got this area or not - when do you think you will be moving down.

yeah McDreamy is in Cyprus, youve just reminded me to go check a thread i was talking to her on!

Mattysmummy · 30/01/2007 20:57

Right I am giving up with that but you should be able to get it if you copy and paste it in to your browser....

I will be going on and off so when I do I will message you and perhaps we can wear a flower on our jacket so we know who each other is hahaha ;0)

I think most of the MQ's are ok. I have some friends who live in the new builds in Lee On Solent or near there and they are amazing, 4 beds etc. Some are very much 80's builds, woodchip wall paper and all that but still its not expensive really. I dont know much about Rowner, Elson is supposed to be ok as is Stamshaw/Hillsea in Portsmouth, Eastney I think is a bit bottom end but again have friends that live there and like it. I think it very much depends on how you approch it and also what your neighbours are like. I also dont think it matters too much weather you are an officer or not, I think they get Drayton (nicer houses) but have less friends ;0) (joke to any officer mummies) I know one of our new neighbours is an officer in Fareham and i think there are schools near them all, I know there are two in fareham.

Where are you Madge ? What do you think ?

madge7 · 30/01/2007 20:59

Thanks Strwabes.

No they only have two but are both naval so are planning on an aupair if ness which the mob too into account I am led to believe but you never know.

Trying to do my homework.... to revisit my inclusive and anti bias policy....

sheesh, if I stare at the page any longer I will burn holes in it

re MQ: you could buy a house and have the neighbours from hell and no way out so at least if you get somewhere that is really bad you can shout and hopefully something will be done about it, moving is always worrying.

StrawberrySnowflakes · 30/01/2007 21:11

am very grateful of this site tonight, having a lil old chat .......

I was delivering my leaflets, trudging the streets as you do, and a lady come running out saying how she was a childminder and how they run a group at the local church hall and that I should come along and meet all the others. I could go tomorrow with my 3.5 year old???? shall I go?? am a bit nervous, you know not being a mummy and all......

What night do you do ICP MattysMummy - oooh thats too much to type, you are MM now ok...hehe!!

Anyway do you think u will be going to rhyme time this thursday at all?

saltire · 30/01/2007 21:33

We should hear this week, and hopefully they will let the DS finish the school year here. If i hear i will post it and let you know. If we get allocated a MQ you could go round and photograph it for me lol.

Mattysmummy · 30/01/2007 21:36

Of course you should go. I wont be at the libarary this Thurs as have the last session at a mummy and baby group I go to but will hopefully make it next week.

MM is fine with me.

Mattys Daddy has just come in from footie so am going to go as havent seen him today. Little one had his jabs today so am going to tell him all about that.

Its been really nice to meet you all, speak soon x

madge7 · 30/01/2007 21:49

Strawbs - Brilliant thanks for that list, the net mums is good too isnt it, have registered away - thanks so much for that! :-)

Saltire - yes no worries, of course I will photograph it for you, I was the same, I think we turned down so many places in the end, the housing lady threw a three bedroom house at us and hey - we didnt say no!! hehe!! I used to get my freind who was here already to pop round and give it a once over, I knew exactly what she was going to say by the "welllll, its got a nice garden!!" :-)
To be honest though, we are very lucky here, everyone speaks, but doesnt live in eachothers pockets, if people have parties, they tend to take them inside after about 11pm, but mainly thats in the summer for bbqs etc.

Have a nice evening anyway and MM, yep, next week would be nice, I think that is toddler rhyme time tho that week, do you fancy meeting beforehand in the cafe area.

I have had a lovely chinwag on here tonight, thanks everyone, and yep - i will go to church hall tomorrow.....
