Nanny: From live in to live out

Hi I'd appreciate some advice from all you nanny-employers out there! I am changing from a live in nanny to a live out (for mutually beneficial reasons), with the same family. My hours (55 a week) will remain the same. What sort of raise, percentage wise, would you recommend I ask for to cover the increased costs I will face? I have explained to the parents that I will need a slight payrise, which I think they are ok with. My problem is I am in the US, and my pay up til now has been pretty much the equivalent of a fairly well paid live in nanny in London. If I convert the going rate of a live out in London to dollars, well it's just a huge amount and I am not sure how my bosses will take it! They have thus far been happy to pay me the London rate for live in, so I guess I should just go ahead and ask them for the London live out rate! I hate talking business, especially as this is my dream job and I don't want to jeapordise it, but at the same time I do want to make sure I don't short change myself. Uwila, you're from the States, I would really value your input please
