I was thinking about getting my mum involved, and having her as an assistant.Just wondering what the ratios for childminder to child is.
At the moment i am registered for 3 under 5,would it increase to more than 3 with my mum as my assistant?

Hope that makes sense

Thanks

Hi ev1esmum

My CC officer told me i would still only be allowed 3 under 5 with my mum as an assistant, but my friend who is an elcted member knows someone who has their mum as an assistant is allowed 6 under 5 so who knows?

The CC as we know are a law unto themselves eh?

Oh well maybe someone here wll know

Under Ofsted I do know that it also depends on the amount of floor space you have per child.

My childminder (n Glasgow) used to have her mum and her MIL helping, so as far as I am aware, she could have had up to 9 under 5s. They were there full time though - they didn't just pop in and out to help.

She also had plenty of space though - a very large playroom (used exlcusively for mindees), a separate room that could be used for naps, a large kitchen/dining area and an enormous garden.
