We're First time AuPair hosts. Need to arrange room from scratch.

What would you put in?

So far I have...

Towels
Sheets
Bedding
Mirror (freestanding double sided)
Bedside table
Chest
Wardrobe
Washing basket
Pillows
Bedside light
Wardrobe racks for shoes
Over-Door pegs
Cork board/pin board
Coat hangers
Wall picture
Little baskets/drawers for hair stuff and jewellery
Drawer dividers
Waste paper basket

Sorry if this seems like a stream of consciousness, but would appreciate ideas. Thankyou.

Sounds fine. You're over thinking things though. It's just a bedroom! What do you have in yours?

HarrietVane99 · 25/05/2016 23:53

Is there room for a table and chair, for writing, using laptop, if she has one? And/or a comfy chair for when she has a friend over?

Tie a bell to the underside of the bed. Just for the enjoyment of those on aupairsnet or equivalent

Yep. Tv is in there too and good wifi. Thanks all

Thing is I have trouble picturing being in a foreign country miles from home, single... I've never done it. I want her to be happy and comfortable and stay for ages

I usually put a few nice toiletries in, a tube map/map of the area and a couple of guide books for the area too and a little bunch of flowers.
I also put an adapter plug for the country she's coming from.

Kettle, nice mug and plate?

Thank you. Added to the list.
