It was mindee 1, age, 2 who i posted about a couple of days ago, saying he hadn't been well for ages and had had a cold since way before Christmas. Well he was fine this morning, we played on playdoh, then took mindee 3 to nursery, he had a wee sleep in buggy. When he woke up, he was a bit groggy looking but other wise fine. Then after about 30 mins he started to shiver. He was burning hot all over his body, except his hands and feet, which were icy cold. He had a temp of 39 and his face was white,. I called his mum at work, she asked me to give him calpol to bring his temp down, and she was on her way. My friend was in, so she poured out the calpol, but he wouldn't take it, he started to scream and get upset, so i gave up. I ended up getting a tepid face cloth and sponging him down with that. He then went from pale to bright red, still hot, still icy cold feet and hands. His mum rang and said could i take him to their GP's, and she would meet me there. I am just waiting for her to phone me. I hate it when children are ill like that, and always feel guilty if they get ill at my house!

It's not your fault, & you did the right thing Hope it's "just a virus" & nothing to be too worried about

I know it's not my fault, i just still feel really bad if they take ill when they are with me. No word yet from mum, hoping he's ok

Hope all is okay.

I hope so too, i am really starting to worry something is wrong, as she would have taken him home if the doc said it was just a virus surely?

If he is feeling poorly, she might be busy dealing with him - settling him, etc.
