overnight care - can someone please advise me??

i am a newly reg. cm and i didn't register for overnight care as i thought we don't really have the space and i do like an unbroken nights sleep

however, the older brother of my mindee is having eye surgery sometime in the near future and obvs. his mum and dad want to be with him at the hospital as much as possible. so, i was wondering about having mindee maybe one or two nights - but-

how complicated is it to change registration? and will it mean a lot of extra cost (ins. etc.)?

if you were to do it for no reward then you wouldnt have to swop your reg
i had mindee overnight while parents went to a wedding

strawberry will know more as she minds overnight she will be able to tell you what things you need b4 you contact ofsted

I do overnight care, and it costs no more for insurance from the NCMA.

If you phone up Ofsted, they may change your registration over the phone, or they may send an inspector out to see where you are going to put the mindee to sleep.

thanks dmo , i had wondered about just doing it as a favour but on the other hand i thought maybe get registered and then if this sort of situation comes up again i'll already be sorted..

twoandabump, someone told me you have to have an inspection from a fire officer - is that right?

i had a fire inspecter come anyway b4 i started childminder to go through my fire eacape with me and to make sure smoke alarm was in the right place (he also put another smoke alarm in a the bottom of the stairs free) and to go through fire blanket routine etc

he was lovely and has been back since to check on me
