Subject to references, agreeing a contract and meeting my husband...I have found a nanny for my temp position and I'm thrilled to bits with her. She seemed equally thrilled and accepted my verbal offer on the spot. I think it could work out really well for us, she's pregnant but will be 22weeks when she starts and 28 weeks when she finishes. She is very open to the idea of doing some part time, ad hoc work after that if she's feeling ok which would suit me perfectly.
My little boy loved her and she was very natural with him. Very relaxed and happy to pitch in helping me with washing/dishwasher unloading etc which will be hard for me post section. Offered to cook dinner for us too on the days when my boy is in nursery!
She seems very reasonable for her experience. She asked for £350 net a week, which works out at £6.30 an hour (rather different than the £12 an hour candidate)! She said she'd priced herself as she needs the work, but knows she isn't an attractive candidate dueto her pregnancy. I'm not underpaying am I? She has 12 years experience, is NNEB qualified, CRB check, First Aid etc etc.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone who gave me such great advice. I really appreciate it.
