CM Club: I'm closing!!

A long time ago on MN we had a childminding club for discussing lots of childminding issues

I'm reinstating it to say I'm closing my large childminding setting/small nursery.

Between minimum wage increases, pension responsibilities, 30 free (ha-ha) hours and the government no longer supporting hobby businesses I can't do it any more.

Any ideas what sort of job I get now? Goodness I will miss it!!

OMG katymac I can't believe you are giving it all up. As you know I m not on here very often anymore, but again,something made me click on this thread.

I don't know what to say, it is tough at times, I made myself sick with worry as just been Ofsted yesterday after 6 years, and it was actually lovely and the best result again.

Keep in touch, must dash parent at the door!

Pretty soon we'll be back to 1 parent staying at home and wondering what the fuck happened.
This...this is what happened. Decent CM/nurseries closing. Makes me sad.

Katymac such a shame to read you are stopping. I haven't been on the home childcare thread since the childminders section closed. I now work as a nanny after giving up being a cm 5 years ago. Just wanted to say thanks for the advice you all (I recognise lots of names here) gave me while I was a cm and wish you luck finding something in the future.

I've been plotting ways to get out for about a year but don't know what else I could do.
