have two full time mindee's, one will be going part time 9.15-12.30 in feb sometime, i did say to mum i may have car by then as i needed to have two fulltimers to pay for it, but now realised i cant buy car to take her dd to school as my wage will be halved from her!

so...
apart from that..how do i fill a space for afternoons?..advertise in dd's school, c.i.s, gumtree, nemums, netmums.......i NEED the extra money im going to lsoe from this little one even before i consider a car..does business pick up after christmas?????...help..thought i was doing well and bumped into girl i was on course with today and she has 11 children at varying times!...need more mindees!

Have you told other childminder friends you need more and asked them to pass any enquiries on to you? This is what we do where I am. Are you far from the child's school then?

i would advertise in pre-schools
the ones that do just half days that would be purfect for you

other cm need to know what spaces you have

other than that what about after school children

i have 17 children thoughtout the week

Look for a mindee for your afternoon slot at the same time as looking for a full timer to replace her entirely. See what comes up first, then decide whether it's worth waiting for your car.

Sounds harsh, sorry, but you're running a business there.

i know wanderingtrol, but mindee's mum is one of my very best friends and she only went back to work fultime because i agreed to have her dd, if i had not agreed, she would have turned job down..so thats a no no, if it was antoher mindee of whom i had no previous relationship with parent, although hard, i would do it.
hmm...one of dd's friends mum is a teacher in infant/junior school just up road, and im meant to be having her dd from sept 2007(before and after reception), maybe she could put ad in for me??...have to say, panicking a bit now..i would do like you dmo and have lots of children after school had i the opportunity..maybe i should ask dd's nursery teacher to put up a modified busines card in the door of main school?????
