I know someone else recently posted about this, but I've got my own 11 month old and a 15monthold that I am watching. It seems like all I am in supervising. I have planned out activities (age appropriate) and it seems like they would both just rather run around free play rather than structured activity.

I am definitely happy to go with the flow, but is this right?
Thanks
Carrie

children of that age just need routine

eat at same time, sleep at same time etc
dont worry if they dont want to paint just play with them sit on the floor and enjoy them
they are learning: social skills, sharing, taking turns etc

just go with the flow

im with dmo,go with the flow!
im not a huge fan of everything being structured and planned, whats wrong with free play and bollox to all the paper work!!
children learn through every day activities aswell as structured learning.

Attention span at this age is very limited, so while they may enjoy activities, don't expect them to be interested for very long. Going with whatever they want to do can work well, especially if they are getting along together rather than fighting. If weather is reasonable get them outdoors to let off steam. If you are countryside based, then children of this age I find love to go and visit the cows, horses, etc.

That's kind of what I thought, I will be providing structured activities in the afternoon for the older ones after school and the babies can just join in.

I just feel like I follow them around all day, offering them toys but they seem happy and don't cry when they are here, so must be doing something right!

Thanks for the responses
