How could I track down our old nanny?

When we lived in Amsterdam, we had a wonderful Polish nanny who had lived in the UK before and ended up moving back here about a year after we did. We saw her occasionally, exchanged Christmas cards etc. She was the boys first nanny and was lovely and very much a part of our family. The last time we spoke was almost a year ago although I had a couple of requests for references from agencies since then. After a couple of texts to her mobile were ignored, I called to find that her phone is disconnected, the person who answered the phone on her landline didn't speak very good English but didn't seem to recognise her name at all and my emails to her account have come back saying that her inbox is over-full, as if she doesn't use the account any more. She always sent us changes of address etc so I am a) worried that something has happened to her and b)sad that someone whom the boys remember and still talk about has disappeared from our lives. If anyone has any amazing ideas on how to possibly track her down, I'd love to hear them! Have tried Googling to no avail.

Next time you get a reference request from an agency ask them to ask to to get in touch with you. I worked at an agency and was always happy to do this when asked.
