Childminders in Ealing

DD will be starting school next Sep and I've been told I should start looking for someone to do school pickup already (am I not too early?!). Does anyone know any good childminders in the Pitshanger area who do school pick ups? I have the list from the council but no idea which ones are good and how it works (dd at nursery). Do childminders do pre school as well as post? What happens in school hols - do you still pay?

Any advice welcome!

Thanks

Hi, Im a (soon to be) childminder in Ealing. I don't cover Pitshanger but I know a lovely childminder who lives in Pitshanger who if she can't help maybe she can recommend someone :-)
Email me your contact number or an email addy and I will pass your details onto her.

Kind Regards Jenna

It's a bit early to be looking. Most good childminders fill their vacancies quickly - normally I would think of looking 2-3 months before you need one. If you do find one who has a definite vacancy for next September they may charge you a reservation fee of some type to keep it open for you.
As for the hours that childminders do, some will do pre and post school, some only mind pre-school children and some will work term-time only and others work (and therefore expect to be paid) for school hols as well.

The www.ealing.gov.uk childcare search for childminders is - in my opinion, much better than going through childcarelink.gov.uk (gives better information about each childminder).

Also, if you are interested, the ealing 135 group have a nannyshare register to introduce parents who want to save money by sharing a nanny together.

Good luck
