Thinking about a mother's help - advice please

My kids are now 14 and 11 (will be 15 and 12 in early March). I still have my nanny, on a pt basis, but she does very little now apart from their washing/ironing. If I'm working late she will cook their dinner, but generally we eat together as a family now.

I also have a cleaner once a week who does 4 hours for me - it's not enough to keep the house clean and do all our ironing.

So I'm thinking of trying to combine the two, to get someone who will come every day (so there's someone in the house when they come home), do my cleaning and all the laundry. Might occasionally have to make sure the kids are doing their homework/not on MSN all afternoon, but limited childcare. Possibly a bit of ferrying about in the car occasionally.

Is this the role of a mother's help?

Or am I just delusional?!
