How on earth do I find a daytime occasional babysitter in central london?

The main agency (sitters) only do evening work. I need someone for daytime only when I need to attend meetings, but it is not regular - just occasional. I live really centrally. Does anyone know of one????

have u double checked with sitters... cause i know it does do daytime work in some ares.... cause i know of a nanny who has got day time work through them...

i guess it depends what area you are in, but if you havnt yet checked may be worthwhile double checking!

please excuse typing, bf wriggly baby...

Little herons emergency creche in canary wharf is v good. You register and then can use the nursery whenever you want 20 pounds for 2 hours, 40 for half a day 60 i think for a full day. They take babies too. I used it and v happy w it.
Lots of activities, high carer to child ratio, and not too many kids.

Have you tried contacting some of the central London based nanny agencies. They may have nannies on their books who are between jobs, or part-time nannies who could do the occasional day.

Are there any newsagents locally which accept postcard sized adverts? Not sure if there are many of those in Central London, though know a little further out, such as Chiswick area there are newagents who permit private advertising.

NannyJob.co.uk has a list of babysitters... just run a search based on W1G 9PF and it shows 17 babysitters within 1 mile of that location, thus I presume there are people around Central London W1 area. However, most will be for evening work, though could be worth contacting some to see if they will do daytime.

Findasitter.co.uk also lists many (87 when checked) babysitters in W1 area. Again most will be evening only, though some did say on their profiles that they could do daytime, especially at weekends and during school holiday periods.

You could try posting something on the Mumsnet Nanny Share board... never know could find someone via that.
